Norton Commons Development

Norton Commons is a planned development on the eastern side of Jefferson County and straddles both Jefferson and Oldham Counties.  Just shy of 600 acres, this subdivision is in the process of building out, and probably won't be finished producing new homes until 2020 or later.

Norton Commons is designed to bring residents closer to each other, with smaller yards than you can find in most new subdivisions.  In addition, businesses are located in close proximity to the residences, as are small parks, schools and a neighborhood pool.

The architecture visible in Norton Commons is familiar to area residents who have traveled through Old Louisville, Crescent Hill or The Highlands.  Classic styles are demanded, both inside and outside of homes, and it isn't uncommon to find a traditional Georgian two story right next door to an Italianate ranch.

Norton Commons Pictures

I frequently find myself in Norton Commons, either showing one of my listings, or taking a buyer through another home.  Norton Commons is a popular destination and will be one of the areas largest and most successful developments when it is completed.  On many of these trips to Norton Commons, I have my camera with me, and I stop to take quite a few pictures, which I am sharing with you below with my Flickr feed.  Most of these pictures are of homes built by Stonecroft Homes, often considered the most successful builder in Norton Commons.  Take a look at the following pictures, and I'm sure you will see why Stonecroft Builders is so widely sought out.

Video Tour Of Norton Commons

To help you get a better idea of what the development of Norton Commons actually looks like, I thought that I would take a short video of a street or two while I was driving through recently.  I'll admit that this video won't win an academy award, but at the very least, it might give you a better idea of what the homes and businesses look like.

Located just outside of the Gene Snyder Freeway and close to I-71, the Norton Commons entrance is off of Ballardsville Road and very close to Brownsboro Road.
